Bizek quarry – Veternica

Continue on foot along Lisičina street, then along Bizek III street. First, you’ll pass the intersection with Bizek IV street, followed by the intersection with Cvetkov put. Continue uphill until you reach the intersection with Bizek IV street again. After the intersection with Bizek V street, continue along Bizek III street all the way to the old Bizek mountain hut. The final stretch is a gravel road through well-maintained meadows, and just before the old Bizek mountain hut, trail no. 45 begins on the right-hand side. After turning right from trail no. 2, you’ll gently ascend to the first intersection with the former trail no. 2. At that intersection, turn left. A narrow drainage channel runs down the middle of the trail to carry off rainwater, so the trail remains passable even after rainfall. Trail no. 45 gradually gains elevation throughout. You climb almost without noticing toward the Glavica mountain hut and the Veternica cave. At one point, you’ll reach a bench, and here you make a sharp right turn downhill. Trail no. 45 continues downhill in a southwesterly direction. This pleasant forest path gently descends with a left bend, then levels out until it reaches a series of long gentle switchbacks that lead to the intersection with trail no. 3. On the flat part of the trail, you’ll pass a toilet facility. Keep going until the start of the switchbacks. Along the way, there are a few fallen trees, and at the end, there is a small brick building – this is where the trail ends. This is an easy, very scenic and pleasant trail to walk, despite a few short slippery sections. The trail ends at the intersection with trail no. 3, which descends left toward the Veternica cave or leads uphill to the Glavica mountain hut on the right.

Trail no. 45 leads from the old Bizek mountain hut to the Veternica cave or to the Glavica mountain hut. It serves as a connecting route between trail no. 3 (above Veternica) and trail no. 2 (from Bizek).
