Danjka – Činovničko Sedlo
From the forester’s house at Hunjka, head down Sljemenska Cesta road toward Zagreb, and immediately turn right off the road onto trail no. 22, which crosses the Danjka meadow and leads to Markuševec.
At this point, the trail is somewhat narrow but gradually widens as it follows Sljemenska Cesta. It continues in a wide right curve toward the meadow. After passing Danjka meadow, which remains on your left, you’ll reach the intersection with trail no. 21.
This is where trail no. 21 begins, turning sharply to the right, while trail no. 22 continues downhill to Markuševec. You take the right turn onto trail no. 21. At first, the trail is narrow, but as you move deeper into the forest, it gradually widens and begins to climb. It crosses two cycling paths, and after the second crossing, it becomes a wide forest road, originally used for logging. Continue gently downhill along this wide forest road until you reach the intersection with trail no. 64. Here, trail no. 64 continues towards Markuševec as a wide forest road, while hiking markings turns right uphill as a narrower hiking trail. The climb becomes steeper, but not difficult. In a wide left turn, you’ll reach the Puntijarka mountain hut, where the trail intersects with trails no. 107 and no. 108.
Cross the Sljemenska Cesta and continue gently uphill along the western slope of Puntijarka hill. The hill with the radar and meteorological station will stay behind you on the right, and you’ll continue on until reaching the intersection with trail no. 51. From that point, the trail gently climbs again, now following the ridge of Medvednica, until it reaches the paved road. Follow this paved road for about 150 metres until you arrive above the Snježna Kraljica hotel, where the asphalt ends. From there, descend slightly toward the Sljeme chapel, where you’ll find the intersection with trail no. 14. Shortly after, you’ll reach the end of the trail at Činovničko Sedlo, a major trail junction where trails nos. 15, 39, 42, 44 and 107 meet.
Trail 21 connects Hunjka meadow with the Puntijarka mountain hut, following the lower side of Sljemenska Cesta. After the hut, it continues toward Činovnička meadow on the right, upper side of Sljemenska Cesta.
