Hunjka – Puntijarka

From the former mountain hut at Hunjka, start uphill on trail no. 108. After about 100 metres, the trail levels out and reaches a meadow.

It’s easy to get confused here, as a wide tractor road to the right climbs steeply uphill. There’s also a junction with trail no. 51. You should take the narrower hiking trail to the left across the meadow and continue steeply uphill. On this steep section, the path widens but is covered in small stones and grass, making it somewhat slippery even in dry conditions. After conquering the slope, you’ll come out onto Mijatovac. Also known as the “S slope,” Mijatovac is a beautiful meadow with a large shelter, perfect for resting or playing with children. After the meadow, the trail enters the forest and soon reaches a side road that leads to the radar and weather station at the top of Puntijarka. Cross this smaller road and you’ll arrive at the Sljemenska Cesta road and the Ivan Pačkovski mountain hut at Puntijarka.

Trail no. 108 connects Hunjka with the Ivan Pačkovski hut at Puntijarka, via Mijatovac Meadow. The route includes one short but very steep climb, making it less suitable for hikers with small children. The upper part of Mijatovac Meadow is easier to reach from Puntijarka, which is only about 10 minutes away on foot.
