Markuševec – Hunjka
From the Dubrava terminal, take bus line 205 to the center of Markuševec, specifically to St. Simon’s church (Sv. Šimun).
Walk along Mrzljak street until you reach the intersection with Vumelje street. Continue uphill along Vumelje street to the next intersection where Vumelje turns left, then follow a small uphill path until you reach Sitari street. At the intersection with Liješće street, turn left uphill and continue walking until house no. 71. The trail entrance is on the left, just before a house with a wooden fence on its balcony.
This part of the approach will take about 25 minutes of uphill walking. The entrance to the trail looks like you’re going through someone’s private yard – and this is also the steepest section of the trail. Once in the forest, the path climbs steadily until it reaches 450 metres in elevation, where it levels out. From here, you’re on a wide cart road that is also used as a cycling route, which leads you to the Markuševec gravel road. After about 1.5 kilometres, you’ll pass a hunter’s lookout post on the right. Toward the end, there’s a short steep section in a right-hand bend leading onto the gravel road. At the big curve, there's a Donji Mrzljak source and a bench for a break. Reaching this part is about two kilometres or one hour of walking.
Continue left along the gravel road to an intersection, then turn right into the forest onto a hiking trail. What follows is a steeper ascent along a narrow trail. After that, the trail merges with a wider hiking path, and you’ll come to a second hunting post. Turn left at that point, climbing up a steeper slope. The trail ascends gradually again until you emerge once more onto the Markuševec gravel road. After crossing it, you’ll enter the forest again, where the trail levels out. After a short flat section, there’s another small ascent, and after leveling off again, the trail continues uphill all the way to Danjka meadow.
Just before the meadow, you’ll reach an intersection with trail no. 21, which branches left, but you should continue gently forward, onto the meadow, which is a nice spot for a break. From there, the trail continues without major challenges all the way to Hunjka, following alongside Sljemenska Cesta until you exit onto it. That marks the end of the trail.
