Sopot waterfall

If you're craving the sound of water on your hike, don’t miss a visit to the Sopot waterfall –the tallest on Medvednica, plunging an impressive nine metres.

It’s fed by the Vrapčak stream, which begins near Grajfova Kopanja and cascades down the slopes of Vrabečka Gora. In summer, it’s often quiet and sometimes even dries up, but after rain or in winter, it comes to life, offering a stunning sight well worth the visit.

On the way to the falls, you’ll cross a charming wooden bridge, high above the canyon. It’s a great spot to take a break and enjoy the view from about ten metres up. The whole area is peaceful and wild, offering a perfect moment to relax and take in the surroundings.

Feeling adventurous? You can scramble down to the base of the falls – just be careful, the path is steep and slippery.

A drop of water, the rustling trees and a moment of stillness – sometimes, that’s all it takes to feel completely refreshed.
