Lipa mountain hut (700 m)
At the far eastern edge of Medvednica, on the summit of Rog, you’ll find Lipa mountain hut, built back in 1967 and welcoming hikers ever since.
Right next to it, you'll spot an iron lookout tower that’s 10 metres tall and known as the pyramid.
While the hut doesn’t offer overnight stays, it has a warm, welcoming dining room on the ground floor and a kitchen that serves up simple, hearty homecooked meals. Just a heads-up — it’s not allowed to bring food from the outside into the dining room, but you’re welcome to enjoy your snacks out on the terrace.
Outside, there’s plenty of seating space – ideal for a rest, picnic or simply enjoying the fresh forest air. Since it has no road access, the hut keeps its quiet authentic charm – perfect for those who love the journey as much as the destination.
